Wednesdays with Wendy Fisher
at Crested Butte Mountain Resort
1st & 2nd Wednesday of Every Month

Wendy Fisher, Olympian and freeskiing expert, is hosting Wednesday ski clinics again at Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR). Join Wendy and see the ski area through new eyes.

Wendy will lead two separate learning options based upon ability level: one for Intermediate skiers on the first Wednesday of each month; the other for Advanced Intermediate/Expert skiers on the second Wednesday of each month.

Intermediate Skiers
January 4, February 1 & February 28, 2012
Lesson time:10:00 am – 12:30 pm

This lesson is ideal for the Intermediate skier who has not yet experienced Crested Butte’s Extremes or is not comfortable with this type of terrain. Participants learn to ski with more fluidity and how to work the terrain differently to enhance their on-mountain experience. Wendy’s clinics focus on improving each skier’s technique and style. The comfort level of the group will determine the day’s destinations. Each clinic is geared toward building confidence in preparation for tackling CBMR’s famed Extreme Terrain.

Advanced Intermediate / Expert Skiers
January 11, February 8 & March 7, 2012
Lesson time:10:00 am – 12:30 pm

The goal is to adventure into the Crested Butte’s Extreme Terrain and to help individuals get to know this area of the mountain better. Participants learn to ski the Extremes with more fluidity to make their skiing style more effortless. Wendy’s expertise translates to improved technique and a greater level of confidence by learning the safest way to work the terrain to enhance the experience. This clinic is designed to help participants thoroughly enjoy their extreme skiing experience at CBMR.

An Exclusive Cat Skiing Operation

Fisher, joins CS Irwin - an exclusive Cat Skiing operation.
The backcountry, snowcat skiing area just West of Crested Butte, Colorado is known for it’s variety and epic snow conditions.

Fisher is available for Private instruction during your cat skiing experience. “I feel strongly about sharing my knowledge and skills with those who aspire to ski the most challenging terrain our mountains have to offer.”

Superstars Ski Camp at Portillo, Chile

Davenport Mountainsport Inc announces dates for it’s 9th Annual Superstars Ski Camp at Portillo, Chile.

Professional skier, guide, and camp operator Chris davenport is proud to announce the dates for the 9th annual Superstars Ski Camp at Portillo, Chile.  This years camp will take place August 11-18, 2012 and is only open to a maximum of thirty skiers.  Professional coaches will once again include Mike Douglas of Whistler, BC, Ingrid Backstrom of Squaw Valley, CA, Wendy Fisher of Crested Butte, CO, and Chris Anthony of Vail, CO.  The camp will also feature a professional photographer to document in stills and video the entire experience for our guests.  The Superstars Camp is geared towards expert skiers looking to take their skiing to the next level with expert coaching on the skills of steep skiing, terrain recognition and management, proper mechanics, and good old powder skiing techniques.

Camp founder Chris Davenport says: “ For eight years we have had a grand time skiing with and coaching amazing people from all over the world here in Portillo.  The terrain and the hotel make the perfect location for this type of ski-week and the coaches and I all agree it’s one of the most fun weeks we experience throughout the year”

The cost of the camp is $2500 and includes all coaching and activities both on and off the hill, including exclusive presentations by the professional staff, a world-class gift bag, and a DVD with images and video of each clients skiing highlights.
