Portillo, CHILE – For the fourth year in a row, Davenport MountainSport Inc. and Ski Portillo are proud to announce Ski with the Superstars Week, held August 18-25, 2007, at Ski Portillo. Ski with the Superstars is a dream ski vacation in the Chilean Andes Mountains with some of the world’s most renowned freeskiers as personal guides and coaches. The camp is open to any age (in 2006 the range was 15-64) and all participants must be expert skiers (able to ski all blacks).  Participants will spend the week mastering the steeps and deeps of the Chilean Andes with top freeskiing champions Chris Anthony, Wendy Fisher, Chris Davenport, Mike Douglas and Shane McConkey. These athletes have starred in films by Warren Miller, Teton Gravity Research, and Matchstick Productions, as well as having graced the pages of Freeskier, Skiing and Powder magazines. Following are only brief highlights of their illustrious skiing careers:

• Chris Davenport: Two-time World Freeskiing Champion, event organizer, developer of successful freeskiing camps, 24 Hours of Aspen Winner, X Games Medallist, & respected ski mountaineer.
• Shane McConkey: One of the world’s most respected freeskiers, inventor of numerous techniques and styles and a noted ski base-jumping pioneer.
• Chris Anthony: 1996 Alaskan Extreme Skiing Champion, veteran of eight World Championships and 17 Warren Miller films.
• Wendy Fisher:   Former U.S. ski team member, Olympian, and three-time World Extreme Skiing Champion. 
• Mike Douglas: Known as the “Godfather of New School” skiing, Mike is the inventor of many freeskiing tricks, a former XGames star and veteran of numerous ski movies.

Ski with the Superstars Week costs US$1,790 and includes the following:  (See below for the additional cost of lodging/lift ticket package and information on flights).

• Daily personalized instruction in small groups with a different freeskiing professional each day.
• Special welcome cocktail reception courtesy of Ski Portillo Chile.
• Nightly slideshows, talks, and presentations by the athletes.
• A professional videographer will accompany the groups and present each participant with an edited and personalized DVD of the week’s adventure.  This is a one-of-a-kind keepsake.

Nestled in the Andes near the border of Chile and Argentina, Portillo offers unlimited lift-accessed skiing and amazing backcountry skiing accessible via hikes and helicopter. 

Portillo Ski Weeks begin at US$1900, including seven night’s accommodations at the luxurious Hotel Portillo, eight days lift tickets, four meals each day in Hotel Portillo’s dining room, and access to the fitness center, glorious pool and other amenities.  Rates in the more affordable Octagon lodge start at US $1,090 per person based on quad occupancy including accommodations, lift tickets, meals in Hotel Portillo’s dining room and all amenities of the hotel. Rental ski (Salomon Pocket Rockets) packages are available to participants at an additional cost.
